Get to Know About
Helen comes with over 35 years of experience working in various areas within the BC health care system. Having worked as a caregiver then becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse and then continuing her education obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Gerontology shows her passion for ongoing education. During her career, Helen has provided input on various committees including Vancouver Coastal Health Dementia and a Palliative training program for caregivers.Further Helen was instrumental in developing the initial Mental Health medication program that is now offered province wide. Additionally, Helen has submitted recommendation to WCB regarding worker safety.
With this knowledge and understanding of the health care system Helen has been instrumental in guiding families to find the resources and alternative to care that everyone deserves. The past 15 years working in private home care has been extremely rewarding for Helen given the number of families that have been able to remain in their homes. At Paradise Healthcare she plans and directs the client care and enjoys leading and training our team of caregivers to help ensure our home health clients, caregivers and community partners get the support they need. Helen comes from a close-knit family and has a daughter with whom she likes to go to musical events/concerts and museums. On her free time, Helen enjoys reading and looking for antiques.
